K-RAMP is a movie about college fun, romance, and personal growth. It was directed by Jains Nani and stars Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja.
The movie might have been something new and intriguing because it was set in Kerala, but in the end, it was just another boring college drama with bad writing and loud acting.
Story:
Kumar is the main character. He is a young man from a rich family who is spoiled and doesn't take responsibility. He goes to Kerala to study. He meets Yukti Thareja, the woman he loves, and her problems start to have small effects on his life. Kumar realizes how wrong he has been when he hears about her plight and tries to make things right. What begins as a casual relationship becomes more serious. The movie is about how this trip changes both of the main characters as they deal with their own problems and sentiments.
Performances and analysis:
This is one of Kiran Abbavaram's more honest and direct performances. He stops holding back and really gets into his role, which demonstrates that he has improved both his acting and his energy. His acting is by far the best part of the movie, and it shows how much he has improved as an actor, no matter how well it does at the box office. He has a great flair, but he would have looked a lot better on TV if he had worked out more.
Yukti Thareja looks good and does a wonderful job with her part, but you won't remember her character or performance after the movie. Sai Kumar is the best actor for the hero's father because he treats him with respect. Naresh, on the other hand, plays the uncle badly and in a poorly scripted way. Muralidhar Goud does a great job as always, but Vennela Kishore's comedy track isn't humorous.
What works and what doesn’t:
Jains Nani wrote and directed K-RAMP. It starts with a well-known story about a spoilt rich kid, his carefree college life, and fights with his father that are simple to anticipate coming. The first few minutes are plenty with funny gags, but the script isn't really original. The movie takes place in Kerala, however the scenery and the people that are there don't really show off the culture there. The background looks like it's only for show, except for a few photographs and the Onam scene.
The love moments between the main characters are wonderful, but they don't go together well. Parts of the writing seem forced, and their relationship doesn't grow in a way that makes sense. At the same time, Naresh's character swears too much at times, which doesn't seem like a good way to entice kids to watch.
The first half is still good; it's not great, but it's not horrible either. The twist at the end is exciting and makes you think the second half will be even better. But after that, the story turns uninteresting fairly quickly. There is an emotional struggle in the story because of the heroine's problem, but it is poorly handled with too much comedy and a plot that is hard to follow. The ending message doesn't seem real since the script doesn't build the emotional framework it needs to work.
Technicalities:
Chaitan Bharadwaj's music is useful, but not very memorable. Some of the songs fit the movie well, but none of them are particularly big successes. His background music isn't always good; in some places it's too loud and in others it's not loud enough. The picture looks good because to cinematographer Sateesh Reddy Masam. He makes the places in Kerala look clear and beautiful. But Chota K. Prasad, the editor, could have cut the second half down to make it go faster.
Hasya Movies and Ruudransh Celluloid do a great job of making a college drama with a mid-range budget look good. The plot isn't really good, but the movie looks great.
K-RAMP starts out as a fun college drama that appears like it will be wonderful, but it quickly gets boring because the jokes are too much, the scenes are too loud, and the emotional beats are too common. The director's misuse of standard storytelling and bad jokes takes away from what the movie was supposed to be charming.
Even the seasoned actors, like Naresh, have parts that aren't well-written and don't do anything to develop their characters. The setting in Kerala, which could have added depth and interest, is seldom ever used. The effect is far less strong due of the drinking and the same lines being repeated again and over.
The biggest problem with the movie is that it doesn't get the tone properly. It tries to be a funny college show and a serious drama at the same time, but it doesn't accomplish either well.

Verdict:
K-RAMP has some funny parts, and it shows how Kiran Abbavaram has become a better actor, but that's all it does. The second half is quite boring since the jokes are too loud, the emotional core is weak, and the writing is not very good. K-RAMP features good performances and nice pictures, but it doesn't create a lasting impression. In the end, it's just another college romance movie that people forget about.
