Sony has officially confirmed that Jumanji 3, the third installment in the beloved franchise, is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 11, 2026, according to Deadline.
The upcoming Columbia Pictures film is set to be shown in both IMAX and premium large formats. Fans can expect franchise favorites Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black to reprise their roles.
Director Jake Kasdan, known for directing 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and 2019's Jumanji: The Next Level, returning as well. Producers Matt Tolmach, Dwayne Johnson, Jake Kasdan, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia, who were behind the 2019 sequel, are set to return to produce the third installment in the series.
The beloved series centers on a group of teenagers who are pulled into an adventurous video game world. The original Jumanji, released in 1995, starred Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst and was a significant box office success, earning $262.8 million globally. The film’s story revolves around a group of kids who accidentally bring a wild jungle game to life in their own town, leading to thrilling chaos.

Earlier in an interview with Variety in 2023, Producer Hiram Garcia said that the third film would serve as the final installment in the series, completing the character's relationship with Johnson's. There was a suggestion that a significant storyline was necessary to bring their duo to a proper conclusion, rather than leaving it unresolved.
In 2017, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle achieved impressive success, earning $962.5 million worldwide at the box office. This was followed by Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019, which also performed well, grossing $801.6 million globally according to Deadline.
