BTS member RM has decided to mend his ways after receiving backlash for his misogynistic lyrics. He sought advice from female academics, expressed regret for his errors, and committed his knowledge and viewpoints.
During a recent livestream on Weverse, RM reflected on the societal pressure that people usually face in their lives. He emphasised letting people live how they want. RM also criticised the expectations that society often lays upon women to live in a certain way.
His latest remarks grabbed attention quickly all over the world and were praised for their progressive stance.
RM also spoke openly about his thoughts on starting a family, a topic many K-pop stars avoid. He said, “When it comes to marriage, people feel rushed and pressured. There are realistic parts too. Especially for women, it seems like society and the media keep putting pressure on them. On all of us, really. I just wish people could live in their own way. There’s no right answer.”
He reflected on his own upbringing, sharing how his parents built a strong family while living just five minutes apart and dating for a long time. By the time his parents were his age, they already had a three-year-old child, which shaped his views on marriage and family.

He added, “Seeing my parents’ nine years of dating period, I naturally thought I'd get married, but I’m already 32 now… if I get married too soon, you all might feel sad. At this rate, I most probably end up not getting married at all.”
Meanwhile, BTS is preparing to release their next group album in 2026, marking their first full-group album in four years following the completion of their mandatory military service.
