Hombale Films’ Kantara: Chapter 1, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, has achieved a major milestone on its way to release. The much-awaited film has officially been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a UA certificate, and notably, with just one cut. The certification ensures the film is audience-friendly and primed for a wide viewership across age groups, without losing its creative edge.

The excitement around Kantara: Chapter 1 has been building steadily since the success of the original Kantara in 2022, which turned into a cultural phenomenon. The recently released trailer of the new chapter only intensified that buzz, breaking records online and setting expectations sky-high.

Set in the 4th century AD, the film explores the sacred origins of the mystical land of Kantara. Unlike its predecessor, which dealt with traditions passed down through generations, this prequel plunges into mythology, faith, and divine conflict at their very source. With themes of folklore, spirituality, and elemental power, it promises a cinematic journey rooted in cultural memory yet presented on a grand, universal scale.

The cast features Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, and Prakash Thuminad, alongside a strong ensemble that adds depth to the narrative. Behind the camera, the creative team includes music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan—names familiar to fans of the original film.
