Hollywood singer and actress Jennifer Lopez keeps her fans updated by posting photos and videos on her social media and email newsletter. However, posting a photo without credit recently landed her in legal trouble.

According to BBS, Lopez has been sued for sharing paparazzi pictures of herself at a Hollywood party on her social media. The photographer Edwin Blanco and his paparazzi agency, Backgrid, have now demanded $150,000 in damages for each photo.
The photographer and the agency have notably filed separate lawsuits against her, claiming copyright for two photos she shared on January 5. They claimed in their lawsuit that the actress had posted the photos taken by them without their permission.

Meanwhile, Edwin and Backgrid claimed in the lawsuit that the photos were used “to promote Ms Lopez's public appearances, boost user engagement, increase shareability, and lend credibility to her branded content.”

Lopez shared photos of herself arriving at the Amazon MGM Studios and Vanity Fair Party in Los Angeles the night before the Golden Globes in January. In the pics, the actress looked stunning in a white dress and a matching faux fur coat outside of Chateau Marmont. She captioned the post, “GG Weekend Glamour.”

The photos were notably re-shared by numerous fans and fashion pages. However, the official complaint reads, “Ms Lopez's unauthorised use of the Images is commercial in nature, intended for the purpose of self-promotion. For example, Ms Lopez used the Images to spotlight the designer of her clothing and jewellery, leveraging the publicity from the event to promote her fashion affiliations and brand partnerships.”
