Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya made a calm, composed public appearance with his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma in Mumbai, a day after an uncomfortable incident involving an abusive fan briefly put the spotlight on his personal life. The couple was spotted late on Thursday night after attending a Christmas celebration in the city.
Videos and photographs that surfaced on social media showed Hardik and Mahieka leaving the venue together, twinning in coordinated maroon outfits.
Mahieka wore a shimmery saree, while Hardik opted for a matching kurta paired with black jeans. The two appeared relaxed, choosing not to engage with the paparazzi as they were escorted to their car.
What stood out was Hardik’s protective and measured demeanour. He was seen carefully escorting Mahieka through the crowd before they quietly drove away, maintaining a dignified silence despite cameras and onlookers surrounding them.
The appearance marked their first public outing after an incident earlier this week where a fan reportedly hurled an abusive remark at the cricketer.
The incident occurred outside a Mumbai restaurant following a Christmas celebration. While Hardik had briefly obliged a few fans with selfies, the situation became tense when one individual, frustrated by security restrictions, shouted an abuse at him.
Hardik chose not to react, instead walking away without confrontation, a response that many online praised for its restraint.
Hardik and Mahieka confirmed their relationship earlier this year, gradually becoming more comfortable sharing glimpses of their time together in public.
Recently, the all-rounder openly credited Mahieka for being a strong source of emotional support in his life.
After a T20I victory, Hardik dedicated the win to his partner, acknowledging her role in his renewed focus and success.
“A lot of credit goes to the loved ones I have. Special mention to my partner as well,” Hardik had said, adding that positive changes in his personal life had reflected in his professional journey.
The cricketer has also spoken candidly about staying grounded amid public scrutiny. Emphasising honesty and self-awareness, Hardik noted that he no longer worries about perceptions and wants to simply enjoy the sport.
Previously married to Natasa Stankovic, Hardik confirmed their separation in July 2024. The former couple continue to co-parent their son, Agastya.
