On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, veteran actor Dharmendra once again proved that age is merely a number as he embraced the spirit of the day by performing yoga. The 89-year-old actor also discussed the importance of yoga, its deep roots in Indian culture, and how it has improved his own life by bringing balance and positivity.
Dharmendra and actress Ekta Jain were spotted doing yoga in Mumbai on June 21, 2025. The two performed a series of yoga asanas at his farmhouse in Lonavala, showcasing their commitment to health and mindfulness.
Ekta later took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video compilation, offering glimpses of Dharmendra performing various yoga poses as he celebrated the special day with grace and energy.
Speaking to ANI about the importance of Yoga in his life, the Sholay actor said, "Yoga can cure many diseases. If you have breathing problems, remember that health is wealth."
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing this initiative and stated, "I think Modi ji started it, and before that, Ramdev ji also began this movement. Many people from other countries wanted to patent it, but it didn't happen. This is our civilisation, our culture, which has been going on for centuries. And it is necessary."
Dharmendra also highlighted the importance of maintaining a balanced mind and body, attributing it as a key factor in his enduring journey through the demanding world of cinema.
Meanwhile, his wife, veteran actor and politician Hema Malini, was also seen marking the occasion. She participated in a yoga session held in Mathura on Saturday, joining many others in celebrating the International Day of Yoga.
