Ralph Fiennes' starrer political thriller Conclave has officially made its way to India. Prime Video has recently announced an exclusive India premiere of the BAFTA award-winning and Oscar-nominated film today.
The official X account of Prime Video shared a few screengrabs from the film and wrote, “The conclave is now in motion #ConclaveOnPrime, Watch Now.”
The announcement came in as the world awaits the outcome of the secret conclave to elect the late Pope Francis’ successor. Based on the 2016 novel by Robert Harris, the 2024 film explores the secretive process of selecting a new pope
Peter Straughan and Robert Harris have collaborated to pen the screenplay of the film. Directed by Edward Berger, the film was initially premiered at the 51st Telluride Film Festival and enjoyed a successful run at worldwide theatres.
The gripping political thriller features an award-winning cast with the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Isabella Rossellini, Jacek Koman, Lucian Msamati, and John Lithgow.
Conclave follows Cardinal Lawrence, played by Ralph Fiennes, who is tasked to head one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events, selecting the new Pope.
Following the unexpected death of Pope, Lawrence took charge of running the covert process. He later found himself embroiled in secrets and conspiracies that threaten to weaken the foundations of the ancient institution.
