Actress Nidhhi Agerwal has been making headlines following a recent incident at Hyderabad’s Lulu Mall, where she was reportedly mobbed by a large crowd of men who attempted to get too close to her.
Amid the controversy, an old interview of the actress resurfaced online in which she had spoken about the casting couch in the film industry. Addressing the issue, she had said, "Casting couch is a demon of the world! It is just that in the industry just because people know them, it is just talked about much more but it should be completely eliminated as a concept."
She had further added, "To be really honest, I don't really know the truth whether it exists or not... Maybe it does, but I have never faced it. I do feel very bad for people if they have come across any such instances."
She and co-star Prabhas attended the song launch event for her upcoming Telugu movie, The Raja Saab, when the incident happened. Since then, a video from the event has gone viral on social media, showing Nidhhi clearly uncomfortable as a number of fans attempted to get close to her.
For the premiere of their song "Sahana Sahana," which had attracted hundreds of fans eager to see the stars, the actors were at Lulu Mall. But when the crowd got out of control and Nidhhi's personal space was repeatedly violated, the situation quickly descended into chaos.
The massive crowd was seen rushing toward the actress, trying to take selfies, grabbing her hands, and repeatedly invading her personal space in a number of the venue's videos.

Following widespread backlash over the incident, the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police took suo motu action and registered a case against both the Lulu Mall management and the event organisers. KPHB Inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy confirmed that the organisers had failed to obtain prior police permission for conducting the event.
Nidhhi Agerwal made her acting debut in Bollywood with the 2017 film Munna Michael, which earned her significant appreciation and the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. She later ventured into Telugu cinema with Savyasachi in 2018 and went on to appear in the Tamil film Eeswaran in 2021.
