Akshay Kumar’s niece, Simar Bhatia, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the upcoming biographical drama, Ikkis. Akshay rooted for his niece and gave a special shout-out to her.
Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram and shared a poster from the film featuring Simar. Alongside the poster, the actor penned an emotional note and wrote, “Holding you as a tiny baby to now watching you step into the world of films… life really has come full circle.”
The actor recalled, “Simar, I’ve seen you turn from a shy little girl who would hide behind her mom into this confident young woman ready to face the camera like she was born for it.”
“Safar mushkil hai, [Journey is difficult] but knowing you, you’ll walk into it with that same spark, that same honesty, and that same stubborn determination that runs in our family,” continues Akshay.
He elaborated, “Hum Bhatias ka funda simple hai: kaam karo, dil se karo, aur phir universe ka magic dekho. [The basic concept of us Bhatias is simple: do the work, do it with all your heart, and then see the magic of the universe].”
Akshay concluded his post by writing, “I’m so proud of you beta… The world is about to meet Simar Bhatia … but to me you’ve always been a star. Go shine! Jai Mahadev. @simarbhatia18.”
For the unversed, Simar Bhatia is the daughter of Akshay’s sister, Alka Bhatia.
About Ikkis
The upcoming Bollywood biographical war-drama is based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Indian Army officer to be posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 Battle of Basantar.
Ikkis also stars Agastya Nanda as Arun. The film notably marks the final appearance of the veteran actor Dharmendra as Arun’s father, Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal.
The war drama revolves around the inspiring journey of Arun, a young cadet at the Indian Military Academy, to a courageous officer who sacrifices his life for the nation.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is slated to hit the theatres on December 25.
