Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial film Ramayana’s production is in full swing, with the crew still looking forward to casting actors in the supporting roles. Vivek Oberoi is reportedly set to join Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's upcoming mythological epic.
However, there have been speculations that Anil Kapoor and Vikrant Massey have also joined the star cast of the film. Anil Kapoor was rumoured to play the role of King Janaka while Vikrant was speculated to star as Prince Meghnad. However, the reports have now been debunked.
According to Pinkvilla, a source close to the production has confirmed that neither actor is attached to the film.
Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi is the latest addition to the franchise, and he is reported to play the role of Vidyutjihva, a demon prince from the Daitya clan and husband to Surpanakha, portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh. Oberoi’s character is expected to be involved in a fierce battlefield clash with Ravana, played by Yash.
Helmed by filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana will feature Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The ensemble also features Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Lara Dutta, Amitabh Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, among others, in the pivotal roles.

Ramayana is being made under a massive budget of Rs 835 crore for just the first part, making it the most expensive Indian film. The producers, Namit Malhotra and Yash, plan to release it globally and are in talks with Warner Bros. Pictures for international distribution.
The upcoming film is designed as a two-part cinematic spectacle, with Ramayana Part One slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by Part Two in Diwali 2027.
