The South cinema industry has been ruling both the hearts of fans and the box office with their back-to-back engaging films. They have delivered massively engaging movies by not just making large-scale films but also leaving an impact on massive audiences with their gripping narratives. From strengthening regional content to creating box office spectacles, they are ahead in every aspect. Moreover, they have also been proving their dominance at the National Awards for three consecutive years.
The South industry's run of victory at the National Awards is extremely impressive. In 2020, Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru won five National Awards at the 68th National Film Awards, including Best Feature Film, Best Actor for Suriya, Best Actress for Aparna Balamurali, Best Screenplay for Shalini Usha Nair and Sudha Kongara, and Best Background Score for G. V. Prakash Kumar. In 2021, at the 69th National Film Awards, Pushpa: The Rise won two awards – Best Actor for Allu Arjun and Best Music Direction for Devi Sri Prasad. Then, at the 70th National Film Awards for 2022, the industry achieved a magnificent win as Rishab Shetty won the National Award for Best Actor, Kantara was honored with the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and KGF: Chapter 2 received awards for Best Action Direction and Best Kannada Film.

Apart from these successes, the South industry is set to deliver more blockbusters like Kanguva starring Suriya, Disha Patni, Bobby Deol and others, Pushpa 2 : The Rule starring Allu Arjun, Rahmika Mandana and others and the successor of the blockbuster film Kantara, Kantara: Chapter 1 starring Rishab Shetty and Sapthami Gowda.
