With the seat-sharing taking the final shape among MVA constituents- Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackery) and Congress, former Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam today expressed his displeasure over Shiv Sena UBT's list of five candidates in Mumbai.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) Uddhav Thackery faction on released its first list of 17 candidates in Maharashtra for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"Shiv Sena should not take an extreme stand. This will cause a huge loss to Congress. I want to attract the attention of Congress leadership to intervene, if not then break the alliance to save the party. The decision of an alliance with Shiv Sena will prove self-destructive for Congress."
The veteran Congress leader is also reportedly upset over the Shiv Sena (UBT) declaring Amol Kirtikar's name as its candidate from Mumbai North West constituency.
Reacting to Sanjay Nirupam's statement, Shiv Sena UBT MP Arvind Sawant says, "Who is he (Nirupam)? I don't know. There is discipline in our party. Once Uddhav Thackeray declares it (names of candidates) the matter is over."
“I will wait for a week for the Congress leadership to take a decision after which I am open to all the options,” Sanjay Nirupam said at a press conference.
