UPPSC Exams to be held in single day, Yogi govt takes action after students' protest

UPPSC PCS, RO and ARO Protest: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has accepted the demands of protesting students and agreed to conduct the Preliminary Examination for the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) 2024 in a single day. This decision comes after days of intense protests by aspirants who had been demanding a streamlined examination process.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Commission Chairman Sanjay Shri Neth. The commission has also formed a committee to review the modalities of the RO-ARO examination, which has been subsequently postponed.

Last week, the UPPSC revealed that the RO-ARO preliminary exam will take place in three shifts on December 22 and 23, while the PCS preliminary exam is set for December 7 and 8 in two shifts. This revised schedule caused dissatisfaction among aspirants, as many feel it deviates from the usual norms.

The students have been demanding a transparent and efficient examination process, including a single-day, single-shift format for both PCS and RO-ARO exams. They argue that this would reduce stress and ensure fairness for all aspirants.
