In preparation for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, district officials and police held a joint meeting with nearly 200 DJ operators on Tuesday at the Police Lines auditorium, officials said on Wednesday.
The meeting was co-chaired by Additional District Magistrate (City) Brijesh Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh, where DJ operators were briefed on a series of rules to ensure smooth and safe conduct during the yatra.
Authorities specified that DJ setups must not exceed 12 feet in height and 14 feet in width. Additionally, a strict ban has been imposed on playing songs that are vulgar, provocative, or otherwise inappropriate during the religious procession.
To curb noise pollution, DJs will be required to adhere to permissible sound levels, and no DJ music will be allowed after 11 p.m.
Officials emphasised that the Kanwar Yatra is a celebration rooted in faith, discipline, and communal harmony, and called for everyone's cooperation to maintain peace and order throughout the event.
