Although the two-wheeler segment witnessed a mixed performance by legacy players in June 2025 so far as domestic volumes are concerned, expectations are that demand will pick up going forward, owing to a positive economic outlook, strong Rabi harvest and traction in the rural markets.

The country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, registered a growth of 6.9% year-on-year (y-o-y) at 5,25,136 units last month. "The onset of monsoon across most parts of the country and positive economic outlook are expected to accelerate demand in the lead-up to the festive season," the company said in an official statement.

While Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recorded a decline of 19.4% y-o-y at 3,88,812 units during the month, TVS Motor Company posted a growth of 9.9% y-o-y at 2,81,012 units in domestic two-wheeler wholesales.

The Pulsar-maker, Bajaj Auto, faced headwinds in the domestic market as the two-wheeler volumes slipped 15.7% y-o-y at 1,49,317 units in June 2025.
