The production-spec version of the new Tata Sierra has been revealed.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles today unveiled the production-ready version of the 2025 Tata Sierra, marking the return of one of India's most recognisable SUV nameplates, ahead of its market launch scheduled for November 25. The Tata Sierra's journey started in India in 1991 when the iconic SUV entered the market.

Design and features: New Sierra retains iconic DNA with modern updates

According to the company, the 2025 Sierra has been re-engineered to retain its design DNA while meeting present-day expectations for technology, safety, comfort and capability. Martin Uhlarik, Vice President and Head of Global Design at Tata Motors, said: "The Tata Sierra is much more than a name or a vehicle; it is a living symbol of Indian ingenuity and aspiration. For many, the Sierra evokes an everlasting longing -- a silhouette glimpsed on the horizon, a feeling that lingers long after the journey ends. Today, that memory transforms into a bold vision for the future. With its timeless silhouette and indomitable spirit, the new Sierra pays homage to its roots while fearlessly embracing what lies ahead."

The new Sierra is designed as Tata's halo SUV, with a silhouette that reinterprets the original's signature three-quarter glasshouse. The updated form uses a panoramic roof, flush glazing and a black roof finisher to recreate the airy cabin effect while aligning with modern safety and aerodynamic standards. Clean surfaces replace ornamental detailing, with a long wheelbase, wider stance and optimised roofline contributing to visual balance and improved aero performance.

The front fascia features the Light Saber full-width LED DRL, forming a seamless curve across the SUV's width and mirrored at the rear through a continuous light bar. Other exterior elements include 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, gloss black cladding, hidden wipers and a clamshell tailgate. The wide rear haunches and floating-roof design provide a more planted and contemporary stance compared with earlier concepts and prototypes shown in recent years.

Interior highlights: Theatre Pro multi-screen layout and lounge-like cabin

The interior is built around what Tata calls the Life Space or living-room philosophy. The horizontal cabin layout emphasises width, while the multi-screen Theatre Pro setup uses a Horizon View screen arrangement (a three-screen set-up) for driver and front passenger. A JBL Black 12-speaker system, paired with Dolby Atmos and the Sonic Shaft soundbar, is designed to enhance in-cabin acoustics. The Panora Max sunroof, combined with the glasshouse, recreates the open feel of the first-gen Sierra's distinctive window line. Materials, ambient lighting and colour choices have been selected to build a calm, lounge-like environment.
