Industry body Assocham today asked the government to address the concerns of people, who are protesting against setting up of the Koodankulam nuclear power plant, through a dialogue.
"It is an essential component of India's economic growth and cannot be side-stepped," said the chamber while urging the Tamil Nadu state government to address legitimate concerns of protesters.
Nuclear power is one of the best options to enhance our energy security which will reduce the burden on Railways to ferry millions of tonnes of coal to power plants, it said.
