Will seriously consider formation of a financial sector super-regulator: FSLRC chairman

Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission chairman Justice BN Srikrishna told CNBC-TV18’s economic policy editor Siddharth Zarabi that he will seriously consider the formation of a financial sector super-regulator.

The government today notified the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC).


The ten-member commission will, over the next 24 months, attempt an ambitious rewrite of over 60 diverse laws related to the financial sector.


But perhaps the most significant item on the agenda is the idea of an omnibus super-regulator as a means of oversight over financial sector regulators.
