Indian Embassy issues travel advisory

In light of ongoing tensions at the Cambodia-Thailand border, the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh has issued an advisory urging Indian nationals to refrain from traveling to the affected areas.

"In view of the ongoing clashes at the Cambodia-Thailand border, Indian nationals are advised to avoid traveling to the border areas," the embassy said in a statement posted on X.

The embassy, located in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, also shared emergency contact information for Indian nationals. "In case of any emergency, Indian nationals may approach the Embassy of India, Phnom Penh at +855 92881676," it said.

The Indian Embassy in Thailand has released a travel advisory amid ongoing deadly border clashes with Cambodia, urging Indian citizens to remain vigilant and avoid specific high-risk areas as the violence entered its second day on Friday.

In a post on X, the Embassy advised travellers to rely on official updates from Thai sources like the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). It shared a TAT alert listing locations across seven provinces, including Ubon Ratchathani, Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat as “not recommended for travel.”
