Months after a very public fallout, US President Donald Trump has struck a softer tone toward Elon Musk, suggesting the billionaire’s political path will ultimately lead him back to the Republican Party.
“I don’t think he has a choice,” Trump said during an interview on the Scott Jennings Show recorded Tuesday, describing Musk’s options as siding with the GOP or with “radical left lunatics.”
Despite their earlier rift, Trump downplayed the dispute and offered praise for Musk, signaling a shift from the sharp criticism that once defined their feud.
"He’s a good man. He got off the reservation, incorrectly, and that’s okay, because, you know, it’s just one of those things," Trump added.
Trump also took a jab at Musk’s flaws, describing him as “80 per cent super genius, and then 20 per cent he’s got some problems. And when he works out the 20% he’ll be great, but he’s got some difficulty.”
