Former US President Joe Biden was recently spotted with a noticeable scar on his forehead, sparking concerns about his health due to his frail appearance. He was filmed leaving a church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Biden has undergone surgery to remove skin cancer lesions, his spokesperson confirmed, the latest in a series of health challenges he has faced.
The footage showing a visible gash on Biden’s forehead was shared by a resident, with Inside Edition later releasing images of him leaving a Delaware church bearing the scar. Spokesperson Kelly Scully confirmed that Biden recently underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure in which thin layers of skin are removed until no cancer cells remain.
Biden has battled cancer on multiple occasions. In March, his office disclosed that he had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, prompting him to say: “Cancer touches us all. Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
Two years earlier, while still in office, Biden underwent removal of a basal cell carcinoma from his chest. His physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, noted in 2023 that a routine exam had also detected a skin lesion, which was excised and later confirmed as cancerous through biopsy.
Biden recently underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure in which thin layers of skin are progressively removed and examined under a microscope until no cancer cells remain. The technique is commonly used to treat fast-growing or recurring skin cancers, particularly in sensitive areas such as the face, hands, or genitals.
