WhatsApp to stop working on these 35 smartphones: Here is the complete list

Currently, the new minimum system necessities of the app state that phones that still run on older Android versions than 5.0 and iOS versions older than iOS 12 will not be able to receive security and other updates.

Now, in a significant update from CanalTech, WhatsApp is planning to change its minimum system requirements, which could make some old Android smartphones and iPhones incompatible with the app. According to the report, 35 smartphones from popular brands like Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Apple, and more are unlikely to receive WhatsApp updates or security patches.

This move also aims to ensure that users of these phones are now compelled to upgrade to a newer smartphone, given that WhatsApp is one of the most used apps, and the newer updates always come with important patches and security updates.
