Tata Electronics wants to be 'India's Foxconn', looks to expand beyond Apple: Report

The Tata group firm not only wants to diversify its portfolio but also follow the Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer's business model

Tata Electronics is in talks with several large companies and potential clients to onboard them as part of its strategy to move beyond just being a supplier of iPhone maker Apple,  The Economic Times ahs reported.

The expansion bid is part of the Tata group firm’s plans to become India’s Foxconn by not just diversifying its portfolio but by also following the Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer's business model, the report added.

Currently, the firm is fully occupied with Apple’s projects but it is keen to “set in motion” rapidly for future contracts, the report said, citing sources.
