Google is improving its Gemini AI assistant to make it more helpful. One of the latest updates is a new feature for Google Maps. When you use Gemini with Google Maps, a new button called “Ask about place” will appear on the screen. This makes it easier to ask Gemini questions about the location you’re looking at, according to a report by Android Authority.

Here’s how it works: if Google Maps is open on your phone and you activate Gemini, you’ll see this new button. By tapping it, you can quickly add a link to the location in your search, and Gemini will be able to provide answers related to that place. This feature is meant to make your search experience smoother and more connected to your current location.

Right now, the button only works for specific locations, not entire cities. This could be a small issue, but it might be fixed before the feature becomes available to everyone.

Although this feature is still being tested and isn’t live yet, it’s a good example of how Google is working to make Gemini smarter and more useful. We’ll have more information when the feature is fully ready for users.
