Samsung is now done with the flagship launches for the year and reports suggest that the company has already started working on the next-generation Galaxy S series phones -- Galaxy S26 series. A new report claims that there will be a Galaxy S26 Pro and it will pack a 4300mAh battery.
Although the GalaxyClub reports that this is a bit of an upgrade over the Galaxy S25's 4000mAh battery, but as per the nomenclature Samsung follows, the Galaxy S25 is a vanilla model and the upcoming Pro tag will be more of a mid-range lineup, which also means, that the phone will pack a smaller battery than the outgoing Plus model.
What to expect from Galaxy S26 Pro
The battery boost would offer users extended screen time and longer daily usage, aligning with Samsung’s recent focus on improving battery life across its smartphone portfolio. Alongside the Pro model, the Galaxy S26 Edge is also tipped to receive a battery upgrade. It may come with a 4,200mAh battery, up from the 3,900mAh capacity found in the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung is expected to unveil multiple models under the Galaxy S26 series, including the standard S26, S26 Edge, S26 Pro, and S26 Ultra. While the S26 Ultra may run on the latest Snapdragon chipset, other models in the lineup are likely to be powered by Exynos processors, at least in select markets. The devices may ship with One UI 8.5 out of the box.
In a separate development, Samsung is said to be exploring a major shift in its AI strategy. The company is reportedly in talks to integrate Perplexity AI as the default assistant on its next-generation smartphones. If confirmed, this would replace Google’s Gemini assistant on the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung may also preload Perplexity’s app, integrate its AI search features into its browser, and potentially merge its capabilities with Bixby. The South Korean brand is also expected to become a major investor in Perplexity’s upcoming $500 million funding round, valuing the startup at around $14 billion.
