Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has officially confirmed the India launch date of its next budget tablet, the Redmi Pad 2. The company has also teased the design and colour options of the device. Moreover, the Redmi Pad 2 is expected to include AI-powered features and offer support for a stylus. It is also teased to feature a larger display and a bigger battery compared to the original Redmi Pad, which was launched in 2022.
Redmi Pad 2: India launch details
The Redmi Pad 2 is confirmed to launch later this month on June 18, and will be available across several online platforms, including Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s official website. A tag on the promotional poster of the tablet on the social media platform X suggests that the tablet will come with support for Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. However, it is still unknown whether the Pad 2 will support 4G or 5G connectivity.
Additionally, the design of the Redmi Pad 2 appears to be similar to that of the global 4G variant, which was launched this week. It can be seen in a dual-tone finish in shades like Violet, Mint Green, and Grey.
Redmi Pad 2: Expected specifications, price
The Redmi Pad 2 is expected to come with an 11-inch LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of brightness. Further, it is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. In terms of optics, it will likely have a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera. The Pad 2 will run Android 15 with HyperOS 2.0 out of the box, and could have a 9,000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
In the Philippines, the Redmi Pad 2 has a starting price of PHP 10,499 (around Rs 16,000), and we can expect it to be available in a similar price range here in India.
