AI startup Perplexity is about to make politics and money more transparent. The company’s CEO, Aravind Srinivas, has confirmed that Perplexity will soon roll out a feature showing which Indian politicians have invested in which stocks.

The announcement came on Saturday, just hours after Perplexity launched a similar feature in the United States. “Holdings of Indian politicians coming in a few weeks,” Srinivas wrote in response to an X post. His colleague Jeff Grimes, who heads the company’s Live Events product, also added that Perplexity plans to integrate this information into the stock pages of India’s major exchanges — NSE and BSE — making it easily accessible to anyone searching for a company’s profile.

In the U.S., this feature is already live on Perplexity Finance. It aggregates publicly available data to show stock ownership and trading activity of over 600 members of Congress, as mandated by the STOCK Act. The tool lets users view the shares politicians hold, along with their recent trades, in real time.

Now, the company wants to bring that same level of transparency to India’s political and financial ecosystem. Once launched, Indian users will be able to see which politicians have invested in public companies listed on Indian exchanges.
