ChatGPT maker OpenAI is likely preparing a new subscription plan named ‘Go,’ which will be aimed at users who are looking to use the premium services of the chatbot for an affordable price. Currently, ChatGPT Plus’s subscription costs $20/month, and the Pro plan costs $200/month. However, the new ‘Go’ plan is expected to be cheaper than Plus, which may help more users access the service without paying a high fee.
ChatGPT ‘Go’ plan: Key details
In a post on X (previously known as Twitter), Tibor Bhahoa shared a screenshot of the ChatGPT web app code. The image showed some references to the ‘Go’ tier, suggesting that OpenAI may be testing it internally or planning to release it soon. While there are no details about which features will be available with the ‘Go’ plan, it is possible that it would be cheaper than the existing ChatGPT subscription plans.
However, the exact features that will be included in the ‘Go’ plan are still unclear. Previous reports have suggested that it may offer access to updated versions of OpenAI’s models like o3 or o4-mini-high. However, advanced tools such as agents or the company’s video generation tool Sora will probably not be part of this plan.
Meanwhile, excitement around GPT-5 continues to build as OpenAI has been working on its most advanced and next-generation AI model for months. Although its release timeline has reportedly been delayed several times due to internal safety reviews, eventually, at its unveiling, the model is expected to bring better performance, reasoning abilities, and deeper integration with tools like Sora and Canvas.
