Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang on October 24 said the tech giant is partnering with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries to build artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in India, aimed at unlocking the country’s potential from its massive user base and growing data.

Huang, who had a fireside chat with Ambani at the Nvidia AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai, said the country will soon be exporting impactful AI solutions.

Interestingly, during the conversation, the head of the oil-to-telecoms conglomerate gave an Indian twist to the US company’s name. Ambani said the word Nvidia sounds similar to Hindi word ‘Vidya’, which means knowledge, and Huang’s efforts are ushering in a ‘new age of intelligence’.
