Noise recently launched the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max in India, its most premium offering featuring a large AMOLED display, built-in GPS, AI-powered customizations, and various health tracking features. But how does this device perform in a crowded smartwatch market?
Domestic tech brand, Noise, has built a reputation for offering feature-rich smartwatches at affordable price tags. With its latest offering, the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max, the company aims to challenge premium players like Samsung and Amazfit by including premium design and build quality, fast performance, and even some AI-powered features at a price of less than Rs 8,000. But are these additions worth the price, or should you be looking at alternatives? Read on below to know more.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max: Design
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max has a rectangular watch body with a rotatable crown and a button at the right pane. Its build quality screams premium as the sides have a metallic finish with a glossy touch, making it rugged as well. The front houses a large display, while the back features all the essential sensors. On the left side, we get the speaker pane for hands-free voice calls,
The watch is also 5ATM water-resistant, meaning you can wear it while swimming without any worries. We also tried it while playing some outdoor games and even in the shower, and the watch had no issues. This robust protection safeguards the smartwatch from dust, dirt, and sand, and allows it to withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters. The silicone strap that comes with the watch is pretty easy to use as well, as it has a magnetic attachment, which is easy to operate.
If you’re not a fan of silicone straps, Noise also provides the option to switch to a chain, leather, or sports strap. And since these are standard 22mm straps, you can easily swap them out for any aftermarket 22mm band of your choice. Overall, the design looks great on the wrist, and the watch is fairly lightweight, making it comfortable for all-day use.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max: Display
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max comes with a large 1.96-inch HD AMOLED display, which is bright and sharp. Thanks to its AMOLED panel, it also comes with an Always-On Display (AOD) feature, which can be customized to work at certain hours as per a user’s liking. The HD screen delivers crisp visuals, making text and icons look sharp and easy to read. Even under direct sunlight, the display remains highly visible.
However, the lack of an auto-brightness sensor means you’ll have to manually adjust brightness levels based on your surroundings, which is a big hassle if you are frequently shifting from indoors to outdoors. Noise has also bundled some AI features in this device, which allow you to either generate custom watch face backgrounds or summarise your health data or sleeping patterns.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max: Software and performance
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is powered by a customized EN2 processor to undertake daily tasks easily. In our testing, we did not witness any lag during our time with the watch, as with the 60Hz display, the scrolling and touch inputs are quite responsive. Also, the swipes across the screen are lag-free.
In terms of UI, the smartwatch runs Nebula UI 2.0, which essentially blends neat and clean interface with practical functionality. The icons are large and resemble the ones on smartphones, helping us to quickly identify them from its quick view panel. The rotatable crown works flawlessly with the interface. However, the vibration input could have been better.
Coming to health features, the Pro 6 Max gets over 100 sports modes, including different types of running, cycling, badminton, yoga, swimming, and even core training modes. It also has an inbuilt GPS, that tracks the entire location of small hikes or cycling tours. We did encounter one notable issue, occasionally the watch starts a workout immediately, regardless of whether it has acquired a GPS signal or not. However, it can be potentially fixed via software update.
In terms of calling, the watch is fairly audible and the receiver also had minimal issues while using it as a default audio device. However, we wished it had a louder speaker output, as while riding two-wheelers, the wind noise cuts down the caller’s voice. Another issue is that occasionally, ColorFit Pro 6 Max automatically became the default audio output device, and switching the audio output back to the phone was a cumbersome process and detracted from the overall user experience.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max: Battery and app functionalities
Noise claims a week’s battery life with the ColorFit Pro 6 Max, and in our testing, the watch provides a similar battery life under regular usage. However, if the Always on Display is turned on, it reduces the battery life to just three days. Moreover, using the built-in GPS significantly reduced battery life compared to regular usage without GPS. It charges in about one and a half hours using the supplied magnetic charger, and the cable has a USB A output, which can be easily used with any third-party charger or power bank.
The ColorFit Pro 6 Max via the NoiseFit app offers multiple third-party-based watch face selections. This allows users to choose from a vast library of watch faces stored on the cloud, and users can even upload a background of their choice. With countless options available, users can personalize their smartwatch to match their style and preferences, and even with the help of AI, imagine and upload any custom watch face.
The NoiseFit app also provides granular control over tracking fitness or weather data, offering detailed metrics and inputs on the user’s health and location surroundings.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max: Verdict
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is a feature-packed smartwatch that offers a strong blend of stylish design and functionality. It has durable stainless steel construction, a vibrant AMOLED display, and offers extensive customization options, which make it a compelling offering for smartwatch lovers. The addition of AI watch faces is also a nice addition for users who like to change their wallpapers frequently.
However, the lack of an auto-brightness sensor and lower battery life with certain use cases make the ColorFit Pro 6 Max not a straightforward choice for all users. Still, if you are seeking a versatile and stylish smartwatch and can ignore these negatives, then at a starting price of 6,999, the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is worth considering.
