It at times act as the base of the basket, but then you can use it as the lid to prevent things from flying around due to the heavy pressure or things like poha or makhana due to their lightweight nature. I used it for both the things and papad and the system is practical and works.
Cleaning is also straightforward. The non-stick surface lets most of the residue slide off with warm water and dish soap. Even after repeated masala-based cooking, the basket avoided stains or scratches as long as metal utensils stayed away.
There’s just one thing though. If you are looking at this air fryer to cook large batches – like for 5-6 people at a time, then the 5 liter size might feel like the limiting factor and also air fryers usually work best when they are loaded at around 80% basket capacity.
For larger families or when cooking for guests, the 5 L basket can feel restrictive: you often end up running multiple batches to serve more people.
That repeated cooking increases total time and reduces the convenience, especially when you’d expected a “one-go” meal prep.
