Monster Hunter Wilds gets Title Update 2: New monsters, Layered Weapons and more

Capcom’s fantasy action role-playing game Monster Hunter Wilds has received its second free title update today, i.e. on June 30. The free game update adds two new monsters, “Lagiacrus” and “Seregios”, Layered Weapons, a new Support Hunter, more optional features, etc. The Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 also brings various improvements and adjustments to the game. Let’s take a closer look at the new Monster Hunter Wilds content included in Title Update 2.

• New monster: Lagiacrus, the Leviathan
  Title Update 2 adds a new monster, “Lagiacrus”, to Monster Hunter Wilds. As per the developers, Lagiacrus, the Leviathan is “a master of the sea, boiling the surrounding water by emitting powerful currents of electricity.”

New missions to hunt Lagiacrus will unlock for players once they reach Hunter Rank 31 or higher, and after they have cleared the “A World Turned Upside Down” main mission and the “Forest Doshaguma” side mission.

Although players will take on Lagiacrus primarily on land, the fight can take them underwater too, which would be a tad difficult, as Lagiacrus will be in its natural element, and also, the players won’t be able to freely use their weapons there.

• New monster: Seregios, the Flying Wyvern The second monster to be added with Title Update 2 is “Seregios.” As per Capcom, Seregios is “a highly mobile aerial monster that fires sharp bladescales, inflicting bleeding status on hunters.”

To unlock the Sergios-hunting missions, get to Hunter Rank 31 and also complete the “A World Turned Upside Down” main mission.

For hunters who want a tougher challenge, eight★ Tempered Lagiacrus and Seregios will begin appearing for them at Hunter Rank 41 or higher, after they complete the initial missions.

• Layered Weapons
  Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2 brings the option of Layered Weapons. You can now change the looks of any weapon while keeping the stats and abilities of another.

To unlock the Layered Weapon option for your weapon, craft the final weapon in its upgrade tree. By fully reinforcing a Rarity 8 Artian weapon, you can use Artian Weapons as Layered Weapons. If an upgrade causes the appearance of a weapon to change, you can still use the pre-upgrade design if you want. Players can craft layered Palico weapons by forging their high-rank weapons.

• New optional features
  The Free Title Update 2 adds the option to change the handler accompanying you in the field to Eric after completing the Lagiacrus mission. You can still switch back to Alma if you want.


• New Support Hunter “Mina” With Free Title Update 2, Mina, a support hunter who wields a Sword & Shield, comes to Monster Hunter Wilds. The Title Update 2 also allows you to choose which support hunters can join you on quests.


• Photo Mode Improvements Monster Hunter Wilds’ Photo Mode has been given some new options, like “an Effects tab to adjust brightness and filter effects, and a Character Display tab to toggle off your Handler, Palico, Seikret and more,” the developers said in a PlayStation blog post.
