LG has started pushing Xbox cloud gaming support to its Smart TV lineup in India, giving users the option to access Xbox titles directly through the TV interface. The update is arriving through the Gaming Portal on supported webOS models, where the Xbox app now appears alongside other cloud-based game services. The rollout is gradual, with availability tied to software updates that TV users will receive over the coming weeks.

How the feature works
The update enables LG TVs to stream games from Microsoft’s servers instead of processing them locally. Gameplay is handled in the cloud, while the TV focuses on displaying visuals and interpreting controller inputs. Once users open the Xbox app inside the Gaming Portal, they can sign in with their Xbox account, browse the catalogue linked to their subscription, and begin streaming titles without installing anything on the TV.

Because the library depends on the user’s Game Pass plan, the selection of available cloud games may differ across accounts. Free-to-play cloud titles can also be accessed where supported.

Requirements for access
To use Xbox cloud gaming on LG Smart TVs, viewers need three components:
An LG Smart TV running a supported version of webOS
An Xbox Game Pass subscription that includes cloud gaming access
A compatible Bluetooth controller
