Instagram has announced a new Creator Lab that offers new educational resources for budding creators on the platform. Along with this, the new Creator Lab also includes information about new product features that have been added to the platform recently.
Paras Sharma, Director, Global Partnerships, Meta, India, stated, “On Instagram, we're focused on providing an experience that allows you to connect with others over shared interests. We take feedback from young people seriously, and it shapes many of our decisions - from the features we launch to our newly launched Creator Lab, which aims to empower creators to express themselves freely and succeed in their own unique way.”
Creator Lab
Creator Lab builds on Instagram's ongoing efforts to provide educational resources for creators. It updates the existing Born on Instagram program by offering new content from 14 diverse creators, including Aabir Vyas, Govind Kaushal, Meethika Dwivedi, Raghav Sachar, and The Vixens Crew.
The content covers three main themes: expressing creativity using Instagram’s tools, building a loyal community, and achieving long-term growth and monetisation.
The content in Creator Lab is available in English and Hindi. Instagram also plans to add captions in six Indian languages—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Hindi—to reach a wider audience.
Instagram has also confirmed that more content will be added regularly to the Creator Lab to offer better education to creators.
New features on Instagram
Meta announced several new features inspired by this year's trends, particularly those popular among GenZ. One trend includes the growing popularity of photo dumps that emphasise shared experiences rather than individualism. To enhance photo dumps, Instagram has introduced creative text tools for Posts, Reels, and Stories, expanded the carousel size to 20 photos, and added the option to include music in mixed-media carousels.
Apart from this, the Meta-owned platform has also added the “Add Yours” templates to the platform that allow users to add the music of their choice, frames and stickers to their profile to make it more interactive for their audience.
Moreover, Instagram also rolled out Music on Profile, Music in Content Notes and Multitrack audio support for Reels support.
