Google has strategically decoupled its Android announcements from the main I/O keynote and assigned them to a separate event — The Android Show — scheduled for May 13.

This shift underscores the increasing dominance of artificial intelligence (AI) in Google’s product ecosystem, suggesting a conference focused heavily on Gemini AI, Android XR, and broader integration across devices and services.
