Gmail’s automated filters appear to be having an off day, with users across regions reporting that their inboxes are no longer being sorted correctly. Promotional emails and non-urgent updates are showing up in the primary inbox, while some messages are being flagged with warnings suggesting they were not properly scanned for spam or malware.

Google acknowledged the issue in a statement to Engadget and via its Workspace status dashboard, confirming that it is aware of the problem and actively working to resolve it. According to the company, the disruption has led to the misclassification of emails and the appearance of additional spam-related alerts across Gmail accounts.
