Capcom's Resident Evil 4 Remake has sold 10 million copies, and to celebrate its success, the Japanese video game maker has brought out a new video. At the end of the video, it looks like Capcom has intentionally hidden the name of the next Resident Evil title in a wooden signpost.

The signpost has two wooden planks crossing each other with a straight plank below them. Imagine looking at it from the front side and turning it on its side clockwise. Now it reads ‘IX’, which can easily be interpreted as the Roman numerals for 9. This possible tease for Resident Evil 9 was first spotted by AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem.

The planks that are put in an X shape in the wooden signpost come with messages thanking the players in English and Spanish. The ‘I’ in the IX-shaped signpost says “gloria a los players”, which translates to "glory to the players".

It's been four years since Resident Evil: Village–the last mainline horror game in the Resident Evil franchise– came out. We already know that Capcom is working on the next mainline Resident Evil game, to be directed by Koshi Nakanishi, game director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It was revealed during the Capcom Next Summer stream in July last year. A four-year gap is long enough for fans of the survival horror franchise; after this hidden video detail has been brought forth, they should be expecting news about the release timeline of Resident Evil 9.
