Bengaluru suburban rail's airport line: Civil work tender floated for KSR City-Yelahanka section

Setting the ball rolling for Bengaluru's ambitious airport suburban rail corridor, Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) on July 27 invited tender for the civil work on the KSR City-Yelahanka section.

This section is part of the 41-Km Sampige Line (KSR Bengaluru City–Yelahanka–Devanahalli), which connects to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) terminal.

K-RIDE, which is executing the suburban rail project, said Sampige corridor is divided into two segments: KSR Bengaluru City - Yelahanka (18 km) and Yelahanka - KIA- Devanahalli (23 km).

The tender work includes the design and construction of an elevated viaduct with a length of 14.5 km and an at-grade formation with a length of 3.5 km. It also includes the construction of seven station buildings at KSR Bengaluru City, Srirampura, Malleshwaram, Muthyala Nagar, Lottegolahalli, Kodigehalli, and Judicial Layout.
