Apple has announced that its Apple Music subscribers can now transfer playlists from Apple Music to the popular audio streaming service, YouTube Music. The Cupertino-based tech giant has launched a native third-party tool that simplifies this process and also ensures that there is no data loss. However, there are certain limitations to this tool currently as offline songs, podcasts, audiobooks, and search history are still not transferrable.
Apple’s playlist transfer tool: How does it work and steps to use it
The playlist transfer tool works like the iCloud photo library transfer tool and is currently available on Apple’s Data and Privacy website. The tool doesn’t delete anything on Apple Music and can work in as little as a few minutes. Here are some easy-to-follow steps to transfer Apple Music playlists to YouTube Music.
1. Login with your Apple Account on the Apple Data and Privacy site.
2. Next, you will see a ‘Choose what you would like to export’ tab. Select Apple Music playlists from there.
3. Now you will be able to see all the saved playlists on your Apple Music account. Select it and hit Continue.
4. After this, Google will ask you to enter your Google account credentials to sign into the desired YouTube Music account.
5. Now, confirm the access to Apple Data Privacy and click on Continue.
Once the process is complete, it may take up to 24 hours in the background to complete the transfer. The playlists shared on YouTube Music may not be collaboratively owned, and there are chances that due to copyright issues, some songs may not be accessible on the YouTube Music app.
