Let’s face it, there are just too many passwords to remember. And if that wasn’t enough, then there are these shenanigans of lower case, upper case, special character, and whatnot. Apple, if reports are to be believed, is working on solving the password ‘problem’. No, it’s doing away with passwords as of now but, according to a report by Bloomberg, Apple could launch a standalone passwords app.

As per the report, the passwords app will be like other password manager apps. Like quite a lot of other native Apple apps, it will work across Apple devices, including the Vision Pro. Not just that but it is expected to work on Windows PCs as well.

The report further mentions that the app will have a list of user logins and will be divided into different categories. These will include accounts, Wi-Fi networks, Passkeys. Further, it will also remind users to use FaceID or TouchID instead of passwords, where it is possible. The auto-fill feature will be a part of it which will ensure that you don’t need to manually put passwords on apps and websites.

Also, the password app will support verification codes as well. The report also mentions that the passwords app could work like Google Authenticator and act as an authentication app.
