Acer, which is known for its laptops and tablets, is now set to unveil smartphones in India soon. Indkal Tech announced its partnership with Acer last year to release Acer-branded smartphones in the Indian market, and now the company has officially revealed the launch date for its first smartphones in the country. Moreover, these devices will be available for purchase via Amazon, as confirmed by a live microsite on the e-commerce platform.
Acer to launch new smartphones in India: Launch date and expected specifications
A new Amazon listing has confirmed Acer’s upcoming smartphone launch, which is scheduled for March 25. The promo image features an astronaut floating in space against a dark background, framed by a glowing ring, and a tagline, ‘The Next Horizon,’ is prominently displayed. However, other specific details about these devices remain under wraps.
Previously, the Indkal partnership announcement confirmed that Acer-branded phones will be priced between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000. Earlier this year, Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerone Liquid S272E4 smartphones were spotted on the Acer India website, and rumours suggest that these two devices are set to officially launch later this month.
As per the official listing, the Acerone Liquid S162E4 has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, while the Liquid S272E4 has a slightly bigger 6.7-inch display. Moreover, the former is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, while the latter is likely to come with a customized MediaTek chip.
Both handsets ship with Android 14 and support 4GB of RAM alongside 64GB of onboard storage and up to 512GB of storage expansion. Moreover, these smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery each. The Acerone Liquid S162E4 comes with a 16MP primary rear sensor alongside a 0.08MP secondary lens, while the Liquid S272E4 has a 20MP main sensor and a 0.3MP secondary camera. For selfies, both smartphones come with 5MP cameras.
