Accenture acquires Bengaluru-based chip design company Excelmax Tech

The Dublin-based IT company will add approximately 450 professionals to its workforce.

Accenture on July 8 announced the acquisition of Bengaluru-based semiconductor design services provider Excelmax Technologies to further enhance its growing silicon design and engineering capabilities.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"The semiconductor market is experiencing a surge in demand for silicon design engineering, driven by the proliferation of data centers and the increasing use of AI and edge computing," the Dublin-headquartered company said in a release.

The information technology (IT) company will add approximately 450 professionals in key areas such as emulation, automotive, physical design, analog, logic design, and verification. Accenture's global workforce numbers over 750,000 employees.
