South Africa cricket legend AB de Villiers has announced his return to the cricket field. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Proteas batter will captain the Game Changers South Africa Champions in the second World Championship of Legends 2025 (WCL). De Villiers, known as Mr. 360 and regarded one of the most dynamic players of all time has got his fans excited with the news of him returning to action on the field.
"Four years ago, I retired from all cricket because I just didn't feel the urge to play any more. Well, time has passed, and my young sons have started playing the game. We've been playing more and more often in the garden, and, well, it feels as though some kind of flame has been lit again. So I am heading back to the gym and the nets, and I'll be ready for WCL in July,” De Villiers said in a video on X.

The T20 competition in which De Villiers will be taking part is where retired and non-contracted cricket legends take part. The competition offers a nostalgic thrill to the fans around the globe who miss their old heroes on the field. AB de Villiers last competitive game came in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season as he retired from all forms of cricket after that.
AB de Villiers will lead the South African squad in the WCL, featuring legendary players like Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Dale Steyn, and Imran Tahir.
