On Thursday, Team India attended a reception hosted by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Federal Parliament House. During the event, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma highlighted the strong ties between India and Australia and praised the vibrant culture of the nation.
"India and Australia. We go back a long way, whether it’s sports, whether it is trade relations," the captain began.

"Over the years, we have enjoyed coming to this part of the world, playing cricket, and enjoying a variety of the culture in the country," Rohit added.
"And obviously, Australia is one of the challenging places to come and play cricket because of the passion people have, the competitiveness that every player possesses," the 37-year-old continued.
"Which is why for us, it's always been a great challenge to come here and play cricket," Rohit said.
Team India secured a commanding 295-run victory over the hosts in the opening Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth earlier this week. Building on the momentum from this triumph, skipper Rohit Sharma expressed his determination to carry the success forward in the series. The dynamic opener also shared the team’s enthusiasm for exploring and embracing Australian culture during their tour.
"We've had some success in the past and the previous week as we look to build on that momentum, we also do want to enjoy a culture that Australia has," he said.
"The variety of the cities gives us a different feeling. We do love coming here and enjoy our trip, and hopefully in the next few weeks, you know, we can entertain the Australian public and as well as the Indian fans who are here to play a massive role in achieving what we want to achieve. It’s never easy," Rohit added.
"We look forward to playing some cricket and at the same time, enjoying the country as well. It’s a wonderful place, as we all know," the Indian skipper stated.
India are set to face Australia in the second Test of the series, scheduled to be a day-night match in Adelaide from December 6 to 10. Skipper Rohit Sharma expressed his excitement for the challenges ahead in the series. Additionally, India will play a day-night game against the Prime Minister’s XI at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on Saturday.
"Look forward to a very good month coming up. We are all excited and hopefully we can entertain," Rohit said.
