The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on September 28 at 11:30 AM at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. A key agenda item for the meeting will be the election of new office-bearers, reports Cricbuzz.

As per the notice issued to state associations by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, voting will be conducted to elect the president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer.

Other important matters scheduled for discussion include the formation of the Apex Council of the BCCI along with the Governing Councils for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The Apex Council will comprise one member nominated by the General Body of the board and two representatives from the Indian Cricketers’ Association.

While these routine procedures are on the agenda, the central focus of the AGM remains the selection of a new leadership team that will oversee Indian cricket for the next three years—or until the forthcoming Sports Bill comes into force. The bill, expected within six months, may replace the current structure, but for now, the BCCI continues to operate under the Supreme Court-approved constitution recommended by the Lodha Committee.
