The Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians IPL 2025 match has been moved from Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh) to Mumbai following the Operation Sindoor, which was launched by the Indian Armed Forces in retaliation to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, claiming the lives of 25 tourists and one local. The match was scheduled to take place at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 11 but as per a report in News 18 quoting BCCI sources it will now take place at the Wankhede Stadium.
Early on Wednesday morning, the Indian military began precise missile attacks against nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the Lashkar-e-Taiba stronghold in Muridke and the Jaish-e-Mohammed stronghold in Bahawalpur.
The report further stated that BCCI is also in communication with the Central government to inquire about the status of the Thursday, May 8, IPL match between the Delhi Capitals and PBKS.

Given the increased tensions between the two countries, there are worries about having more than 20,000 people in one location under floodlights in Dharamsala, which is only 60 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border.
Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that a high-level meeting had been called in Shimla after India's military strikes. “We are proud of the Indian Army and the people of Himachal Pradesh stand with the India Army and the country for giving a befitting reply to the terrorists who killed innocent people in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
Sukhu informed the reporters that officials, particularly those in border areas, such as superintendents of police and deputy commissioners, have been instructed to maintain vigilance and make sure that technology is improved to collect information.
