The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has announced that this year's pilgrimage will last for 39 days, allowing devotees ample time to undertake the spiritual journey to the holy Amarnath cave.

The 48th board meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) was chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan on March 5, 2025. Discussions focused on enhancing facilities, managing logistics, and ensuring a smooth yatra experience for devotees.

Prominent attendees of the meeting included Swami Avadheshanand Giriji Maharaj, DC Raina, and board members Kailash Mehra Sadhu, KN Rai, Pitambar Lal Gupta, Dr. Shailesh Raina, and Professor Vishwamurti Shastri. Various proposals were discussed to enhance services and provide better support to the pilgrims.

Enhancements for Pilgrims

- Increased Accommodation: Additional facilities in Jammu, Srinagar, Baltal, Pahalgam, Nunwan, and Pantha Chowk.
- E-KYC & RFID System: Introduction of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards and on-the-spot registration at Naugam and Katra railway stations.
- Insurance & Security Measures: Adequate insurance coverage for pilgrims, service providers, and ponies.
- Online Services: Expansion of digital services for registration and yatra-related assistance.
- Route Maintenance & Disaster Preparedness: Track widening, medical facilities, security surveillance, weather forecasting, and disaster management systems.
- Prepaid Digital Payment System: Introduction of a digital prepaid system for hiring services such as ponies and porters.
