Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji urged engineers to continuously focus on skilling and reskilling and suggested them to look at technology as an enhancer and not as a threat.
"Have a strong, open mindset to skilling, reskilling, skilling, reskilling constantly being open to learn and to leverage the technology. Look at it as an enhancer, as an augmenter of your capacity and not as a threat to you," Premji told Moneycontrol in an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Premji also spoke about the infusion of artificial intelligence into all the processes at Wipro and opened up about the development of a chatbot, that focused on employee experience and assisted them in performing different functions such as applying for leaves and using medical benefits.
Earlier, Managing Director of McKinsey India Noshir Kaka had emphasised the need for engineering students to learn code review and believed that engineering workforces would not see a decline in future.
"The skills of the future, for example today if you look at developers worldwide not just in India only by some estimates, only 11 per cent can do a code review. Everyone writes code, but only 11 per cent of people can do a good code review," Kaka had said.
