Audience measurement agency TAM last week released what it called a gentle guide to data interpretation and representation for broadcasters.

But with no compulsion or obligation on television channels to follow these guidelines, you do have to wonder at the point of this chronicle of all the sins of data misrepresentation. In fact, it is almost a dossier on how to use viewership data to your advantage. CNBC-TV18's Pavni Mittal reports.
